No area of photography requires more of the photographer, in terms of sensitivity toward the client, (ability to make the client feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe), experience in posing, and ability to control and use light. From the photographer's standpoint, the fewer clothes/less material you have to work with, the more critical your lighting and composition are. From the client's perspective, you definitely want a photographer who is very comfortable with nudity, has a great deal of experience photographing the nude, one who will listen to you and work patiently with you to create either that very particular image you have in mind for yourself or, if you have no particular image in mind, but are interested in exploring either the artistic or sensual side of your nature (or both), has the talent and imagination to bring those qualities out. Above all, you need to choose a photographer that you can be comfortable with! Jim's casual and accepting attitude toward nudity, combined with his exceptional ability to relate to needs of each individual client, have enabled him help even the most nervous person.
About the photo session itself :
Nudes may be full or partial body. They may range from artsy black and white, to the more sensual, to even sexually suggestive. Whatever your taste or comfort level, you'll find Jim very easy to work with. Indeed, a nude photo session is often one of the most liberating experiences a person can have. It often takes you a large step beyond what you thought you were capable of.
Though the vast majority of clients for years have been women, Jim has noticed a definite upswing in the number of men who have requested nudes the last few years. Finally, men are coming out of their shell! Ladies, if you think you are too nervous to do nudes, trust us, men are ten times more nervous than women! You all need to spend some time on a nude beach! This brings us to "couples". A nude photo session is absolutely great for couples who wish to free themselves of their inhibitions and celebrate the intimate closeness of their relationship in a work of art. Truly, a sensual experience in itself!
Whether their tastes ranged from "classical" to "contemporary" in style, clients have continually told us that their first time being nude before the camera was a positively liberating experience. Most can hardly wait to do it again! We've had some clients 7 or 8 years in a row, some as often as 3 times in one year!
Don't think for a second that you need the 'perfect' body to do nudes. There is no such thing! The vast majority of our clients are just average people of all shapes, sizes, ages and races. We've even had both men and women up to 70 years old! We realize that to be nervous your first time is perfectly normal. Most everyone is, to one degree or another. That's why Jim feels that half his job is making you feel comfortable and relaxed.

The NO-NUDE-NUDE (NNN):
This is a unique term that Jim coined himself to fit an incredibly popular specialty area of his photography. Basically the NNN is a photo that gives the illusion of nudity, but doesn't actually show anything. You may be nude, but through skilful posing and lighting, everything crucial is covered. This is the perfect option for those clients who just can't quite work up the courage to do nudity, but would like to convey the idea and allure of it.
